Disorganized is a visual, somatic based exploration of a journey to reconcile difficult truths. Featuring digital photography, video installation, a short film, and behind the scenes imagery, this exhibit is unlike any work I’ve presented before. This body of work and the showing of it was a true comittment, spanning two years from inception to completion.
The pieces highlighted emphasize the raw and the work that was rebuilding my life and my mind. Hosted by The Hussle Lab on June 1st, 2024 I was greeted by friends, collaborators, family, and peers as I exposed myself and my innermost feelings through digital intermediaries. By transforming the practice of rope bondage into a bridge for healing, using my body as both canvas and vehicle, I discovered a pathway that shifted my inner world to a place of peace, albeit by unconventional means.
Disorganized is my heroes journey. My proof of concept that integration is possible and that the unconventional path to wholeness is one that anyone can follow. It is proof that our darkest impulses and experiences can be directed toward our highest good.
